       Services rendered through akshaya centers

There were two phases in the services of akshaya centers

       E LITERACY PHASE

      Learning system using electronic resources like internet

               e governance

              It is the application of information and communication technology for delivering government services, exchange of information , communication transactions.

              e  commerce

E-commerce is the activity of buying or selling of products on online services or over the Internet.

The various services includes

e-payment, e-filling, e-ticketing, Internet service, Rural e-banking, Dataentryworks, Kiosk banking, FREES, Registration of APL/BPL families under RSBV(Rashtriya swasthya bhima yoiana), Motor Vehicle department services.

e payment 

 Paying for goods and services through an electronic medium without the use of checks or cash. Akshaya centers covers utility bills like KSEB, KWA, BSNL, University fees etc

e-filling 

          It is the process of submitting income tax returns online.

e ticketing

Through this we can book tickets online. Akshaya has tie up with Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Ltd (IRCTC) thereby serving as an agent for booking railway tickets.

          e –banking

           It is designed for the purposes of online banking that enables to have easy and                    safe        access to bank account.

          Kiosk banking          

            Kiosk banking was introduced by the Reserve Bank of India(RBI) with the aim                of facilitating primary banking services to the poor and low-income group                          localities at a reasonable cost without the need for visiting the bank.

          FREES (Friends Re engineered and enterprise enabled software)

                To provide government services to citizens through Common Service                         Centers(CSC) which are easily accessible. Services from different departments are           brought under one umbrella at any CSC.

         The various courses are

          Intel learn programme, Learn and speak English, Medical Transcription, E- vidya,                IGNOU Courses, DOEACC Programmes, Arabic typing tutor, INSIGHT,KELTRON                     computer courses

      Intel learn programme

        IT enabled education program .It aims at developing digital literacy, critical                  thinking and collaboration skills in children from the ages between of 8 to 16 by              providing computer education to them

       Medical Transcription

               It is a Job oriented course in association with keltron..

        e- vidya

          It provides government certificate course in office management. A depth training for the different aspects of a computer. Practical oriented training on Microsoft word, Microsoft excel, World wide web, Malayalam word processor and operating systems.

         IGNOU COURSES

                   Akshaya is one of the largest partners of Indira Gandhi National Open University

DOEACC  (Department of Electronics Accreditation of Computer Courses)   and C-DIT (C-DIT(Centre for Development of Imaging Technology )

                Akshaya imparts advanced and Job oriented computer courses of DOEACC and C-DIT to the citizen. They provide certificate courses, diploma courses and post graduate diploma courses.

Insight  

     An ICT based training Course designed to impart Computer Training to the visually challenged was launched by KSITM (kerala state information technology mission) in cooperation with IGNOU is implemented through Akshaya.

The various projects are

E-krishi, Malayalam computing, SPARK, Online application of Ration Card, Registration of BPL families under Health Insurance , E-District, Unique Identification Number (UID)/Aadhar, Collection of subscription amount of NRK Welfare Fund,E- Grants.

  E – krishi

            A network set up for farming communities in kerala which have access to information in market demand, prices, goods, agricultural practices and quality of agricultural inputs.

Malayalam computing

              Akshaya in association with IT Mission is providing Malayalam Unicode training to government officials of various departments.

Ente Gramam

         It is an online community portal where each village has its own space and the villagers can submit articles which after philanthropic edition is uploaded in portal.

SPARK(Service and Payroll Administrative Repository of Kerala )

   This system caters to the personnel administration, payroll and other accounts activities of government establishments. Every employee is allotted with a unique permanent employee number (PEN).

—      Online application of ration card

              Department of Civil Supplies has launched the facility to submit online Application for Ration card through Akshaya.

•          E – district
              To provide Government services to citizens through Common Service Centers(CSC) which are easily accessible. Services from different departments are brought under one umbrella at any CSC.

It includes revenue department certificate services, public grievance services, payment services,  RTI services etc.

•          Unique identification number (UID)

        Akshaya is the enrollment agency for UID Enrollment.

Collection of subscription amount of NRK (Non resident keralites) Welfare Fund

   

    To setup a welfare fund to provide welfare schemes to NRKs (abroad) and NRKs (in India). Akshaya has been designated the agency for collection of yearly subscription amount from the members of the welfare fund.

E-grantz

  Online portal run by SC/ST/OBC development departments of government of kerala for centralised disbursement of scholarships and stipends to postmatric students.

Conclusion

    Akshaya aims to empower individuals and communities through enhanced access to information and also to create awareness of ICT tools and usage . So it is essential to conduct public awareness programmes to make people more aware of akshaya services .The efficient utilization of the information through ICT can create comprehensive wealth for nation and improve existing quality of rural life.
